iTunes Genius Rocks

I’ve got nearly 6000 tracks in my iTunes library. I’ve tried and tried to create just right playlists, ones that have inherently similar songs that flow as your listening. But to create them manually, well, I just don’t have the time anymore to ponder over whether to include this Def Leppard song, or exclude that Pink Floyd song. But Apple, in their continual forward thinking days, have come up with Genius, a new feature in iTunes version 8. This new feature takes a stock of your collection, compares it with other people’s collections and matches songs in new playlists. These playlists are created almost instantaneously. And I must say, I am quite impressed with it. It’s not a perfect creation, but the first version of any creation has bugs in it, and I’m quite sure Apple is working on refining this new feature. But count me on the side who thinks this is a fantastic feature.
