Ava at 2

Ava is now two years old and a pure joy to have around. It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, and have put up pictures of her, and of us. Here are a few recent pictures of Ava. Enjoy.

Ava at Barnes and Noble

Ava loves books. She spends hours poring over them, and she loves the children’s section at Barnes and Noble.

For a long while, this was the morning routine on the subways.

She may be a good firewoman some day. πŸ™‚

She had a bad fever. Totally out of it.

Yeah, she wants the BMW convertible. If she is good enough, she might just get one, though it has to be approved by Mommy. πŸ™‚

It finally warmed up enough to go to the beach. But not enough. The wind took away any heat the sun gave out.

With her cousin Nathaniel.

They had lots of fun.

Her cousin Bella gives her a kiss.

Lookin’ hip.

Having lots of fun with Mamma.

Celebrating her 2nd birthday with Crumbs cupcakes.

Holy cow! I can’t believe she’s two! That makes me feel old! She’s beautiful, and I can see a little bit of each of you in her. πŸ™‚

Jaimie–How old is Adrianna? Evan is three–maybe we’ll have to work something out for the future!! She is the only other LDS dwarf I know of–we’re new to the whole world–blogs have connected us to a wealth of info from people who really know and understand!

  3. Jaime's Mom says:

    Thanks a lot, Dan.

This is the complete and full text of a love letter, sent to Tanya
a Russain woman by an American man just before Memorial Day:

Tanya, it is early Sunday morning and tomorrow is our labor-day
holiday. So I have another day off! ahh! goodness.. so how have you
been? let’s see.. it’s sunday night, so you are getting ready for your
week? how is teaching? anything exciting happening? are you seeing
someone special? I too await hearing from you, as it is a unique
experience for me to speak with someone so and so warm. I have no
idea what life is like for you. In American media, there is little
representation of your area. On the maps it looked quite lovely but
it’s hard to understand much about the important things from a map. I
do hope that you are enjoying your time.. the time that we are apart,
in our minds so that when we are close, close enough to kiss that it
    is more special for you.

Recently, I have been contemplating history and our people. America
is such a diverse place that it’s special to me to speak with and
share conversations with someone from the heartland of our people. I
say our people, even though I am not a bit Russian(that I know of)
because, here.. that is a relative term and here it encompasses, all
of our peoples. I was looking at world maps the other day and was
taking an interest in Australia as a growing place, a place for a new
start; a place that has much growing to do without a doubt but still a
place to help develop and a safe place for peoples children.

I can do nothing but trust that you are exactly as you describe, as am
    I. I know that Russia has a great history of intellectuals and chess
players. So I can only hope that there is not enough fun in
corresponding with me, if you are not as you describe. We both know
that the Internet is a place where people are often not as they
describe and for some, that is a source of great amusement. I am
sorry to say that I do, have reservations but that, in my mind, I
believe that your time is too valuable to yourself and to your family
for you to waste in deception.

Forgive me if this letter is not of the affectionate type that you
have been looking for, but to me, it is a love letter of the true’st
sort. You mentioned that you were reading some interesting books??
what is on your bookshelf this week? of course, I would love to take
you to dinner and chat with you for hours in whatever way we could
about anything that would make you smile but, we are not close enough
to touch, for the moment and you cannot feel my hand stoking your
cheek, nor a kiss to your forehead. Though you may not feel them,
    know that I am close.

    Yours truly,

    . . .
