If You Could Get A Second Master’s, What Would It Be?

I’m at a point in my career where I am going to go for a second master’s degree. The whole world is open to me, I can really choose any master’s program I want. If you had to choose a master’s program, what would it be? What would you study? What would you focus on?

a friend gave me some advice that i appreciated when i was deciding about grad school, which was: decide what you want to do, and then find the grad degree that will most help you do it, rather than getting the degree you will enjoy getting the most. my phd in economics was painful in several ways, but it put me in a position to do work i want to do.

the correlary to that is Make sure that you’re getting the degree that will _actually_ let you do what you want to do. for example, some people think a degree in public policy is the best way to get involved in public policy, when that may or may not be true (a degree in political science or economics might be better; just an example, maybe not true in this particular case).

does this mean you got that job you applied for in nyc? if so, congrats. if not, then i’m assuming this means you got another job closer to home (and to beautiful hi-me & adorable ava), which is also worthy of a congrats.
