Ava and the Avian

So it’s Day 1 in our new beach abode, or at least it was when this happened. I don’t even think the moving truck had made it out to our area yet. So Ava and I headed for the beach–what else are good girls to do when we are locked out of the house?

So on the way, Ava sees this blackbird. So she stops and watches. And watches. And watches. This was becoming painful for me. So she’s reaching up to him. But of course the bird stays on the fence and doesn’t come near. She whines a bit. Bird still stays.

Then the bird flies about 2 feet further down the fence. Ava takes her arms, and flaps them hard.

Then looks at me, as if to say, “Why doesn’t this work for me?”

It was precious.

About jaimeanne

I'm me. Graphic designer extraordinaire, urban master teacher of social studies, former adjunct professor, high school principal, and now most importantly-- Mom to the cutest little girl ever. I try to live by the quote, "Work like you don't need money, Love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching." I believe in Christ, and sometimes I'm just trying to figure out what He wants me to do. This blog chronicles that journey.
