Uncle Walt’s 60th Birthday Party

Today we drove three hours to the south, close to Philadelphia to celebrate Jaime’s uncle Walt’s 60th birthday.

Walt is Jaime’s mother’s older brother. He is a marriage therapist and psychologist in Delaware, and has done well for himself and his family. So his family conspired to give him a surprise birthday party at the Inn at Mendenhall close to Philadelphia. We were all to arrive a little early and wait in the room. When he arrived and opened the door…

He was truly surprised. His wife, Jeanne, did well at making him think they were just out for brunch, and not anything special. The meal was wonderful, but the company was exceptional. We then went to his home to open gifts and present a message from Walt’s sister, Jaime’s mom, Diane, who could not make it. We ate cake there, because of course we just didn’t eat enough at the Mendenhall Inn!

All in all it was a great time spent with family.
