Our Move

Hi everybody. We’ve moved to our new home and loving it.

Boy that was a tough move. Maybe I really am getting old, but Saturday’s move tired me out completely. We had a good turnout from the ward to help us load up the truck and unload at our new home. After we finished unloading our stuff, we decided to go get another member’s stuff out of her storage place and into her home. She had just moved into the apartment under the one we vacated. She had some very large things, including one of those 57 inch TVs and a massive leather couch. By that time I was completely exhausted. I am greatful for all the help from the members of our ward at church. We got a lot done on Saturday.

So we’re in our new place and loving it. It is a three bedroom house on a cow and hay farm. It is out in the middle of nowhere, so we actually get to see stars now! Something we city-dwellers haven’t experienced too often. We don’t have the internet hooked up yet; we’re taking a bit of a break. We actually sat back and began playing Monopoly last night, which was really nice. It was nice to be together without sitting in different chairs and looking at a computer screen.

We are heading out this week up to Rhode Island, which pushes the completion of our unpacking to next week probably. My sister is back from Iraq and we’re going to visit her. She is getting divorced and needs our support. Please pray for her in this, her time of need.

Very cool. Moving is a lot of hard work. I swear everytime I move, I say I’ll never do it again. Once you get settled you’ll be glad it’s all over with. When we moved the guys from our ward loaded up a truck and trailer for us full of garage stuff and we couldn’t have done it without them. It makes me thankful for the tight knit community the church has.

Ugh. I remember moving not to long ago and it was a PAIN. I feel ya. Enjoy the time with your family!
