Down with the evil empire!

They’re 4 1/2 games out of 1st place in the East. 76% of an internet poll said the Red Sox are done. Within that poll taken at espn.com, even the majority of the Red Sox Nation said they are done. With the Yankees creaming them in the last three games at Fenway, I’d tend to agree with the rest of America. Down with the Sox. It will be another 86+ years for their next championship title.

Go Yankees! And the kicker here is that we know the Yankees are typically a clutch team. They usually don’t pull out ahead until late September, but this year will be different. Maybe A-Rod’s consistency has helped level out the team. Or maybe it’s just a factor of having the Big Unit on our side. Either way– I’ll take it. And I can’t wait for my late September games in the House that Ruth built.

Ava will definitely learn early who the real MLB champions are 🙂 She’ll learn to love the Bleacher Creatures, “roll-call”, nachos, 7th inning stretch and listening to Sinatra sing “New York, New York”. There’s nothing worse than sticking around through a long game only to hear Liza sing.

hmmmm, she doesn’t get into baseball this much when the Redsox win, such as in 2004! she gets really quiet and dismissive when I bring up that year. She’s in denial that 2004 actually ever happened. Such is the Yankees fan.

    GO REDSOX! 🙂

I wasn’t going to post anything until after the game today because I didn’t want to jinx it, but……………..

    WE SWEEPED!!!!!

  3. redhatmandan says:

It’s alright. It’s just August. The Yanks won the division in 2004 and much good did it do them then. 😛

  4. Sherpa says:

    That’s so 2004. That’s all ya got?

  5. redhatmandan says:

um…..when was the last time the Yanks won a World Series?

  6. Sherpa says:

How many times in the last 100 years has Boston won? You’re not even a hard core Boston fan. you’re a Giants fan last time I checked. Just jumping on the Boston bandwagon to harrass the Yankee Fans? That’s so 2004. 😉

  7. Sherpa says:

Besides, 2004 isn’t helping Boston now. 2000 isn’t helping the Yanks. Its about 2006, and in August of ’06, Boston was swept. Now we have the next two months to focus and worry about.

  8. redhatmandan says:

Actually in the last 100 years, Boston hasn’t done too badly in baseball. Granted, there was an 86 year gap between two of their victories, but before 1919, they had won the most World Series of any team. 😉

Oh, and I’ve set aside my love for the Giants for the time being. It does not good to root for them when I’m so far away from watching their games or going to SBC Park. Might as well chose a more local team, DA REDSOX! 😀

Yes, the Sox were swept, at home no less. But see, the Sox’s strategy is to let the Yanks win now, give the Yanks the victories now. It’s okay. The Sox will win when it actually counts. 😉

You know, I was a Yankees Fan for 25 years before I moved within 5 hours of Yankee Stadium. I lived 2098 miles from NYC in fact.

    Just sayin’

I’m pretty sure those wins before 1919 won’t help Boston now either.

  10. redhatmandan says:

The evil empire reeled you in from far away eh? 😉

Eh, it may not be Boston’s year this year.

  11. joybuhler says:

NY Yankee Love has been in the family for 50 years.

  12. redhatmandan says:

well, just so you know, Jaime and Ava and I are going to the Yankees second to last game of the season against the BlueJays. We’ve got bleacher seats.
