Bill Frist To Paint Democrats as Against People of Faith
so, Mr. Frist, does that mean that, I, a strong believer in Christ, and a Mormon to boot, yet a liberal and a Democrat, am against people of faith? How ludicrous is that! What is more ludicrous is that the Senate Majority Leader would never say something like that unless he was in a safe position, unless his constituents actually believed that, unless there was no repercussion for his remarks. THAT IS WHAT IS SAD! because it means that the large majority of people in his district, in his state, believe that. that the rest of the Republican Senators who can remove him from power if they want, also believe that. that President Bush who can influence the Republicans in power to remove him, also believes that. WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA!!!
here is The New York Times article about this.
“As the Senate heads toward a showdown over the rules governing judicial confirmations, Senator Bill Frist, the majority leader, has agreed to join a handful of prominent Christian conservatives in a telecast portraying Democrats as “against people of faith” for blocking President Bush’s nominees.
Fliers for the telecast, organized by the Family Research Council and scheduled to originate at a Kentucky megachurch the evening of April 24, call the day “Justice Sunday” and depict a young man holding a Bible in one hand and a gavel in the other. The flier does not name participants, but under the heading “the filibuster against people of faith,” it reads: “The filibuster was once abused to protect racial bias, and it is now being used against people of faith.”
“Democrats accused Dr. Frist of exploiting religious faith for political ends by joining the telecast. “No party has a monopoly on faith, and for Senator Frist to participate in this kind of telecast just throws more oil on the partisan flames,” said Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York.”
from The Washington Post
Being Tom DeLay means never having to say you’re sorry. So when the embattled House majority leader apologized Wednesday for the “inartful” way in which he attacked the federal judiciary after Terri Schiavo’s death, it was the surest indicator that DeLay’s days are numbered.
DeLay is not in trouble because Democrats are trying to get rid of him. On the contrary, Democrats would like nothing better than to have a weakened DeLay right where he is at least through the 2006 elections. That’s why Republicans are so nervous.
For years Democrats have tried unsuccessfully to make DeLay a symbol of the Republican Party’s iron control of the House, of big-money fundraising and influence peddling, of what the Democrats see as extremism on social issues.
But DeLay was not a big deal for most voters until he blasted himself across the nation’s front pages with his lead role in the Schiavo case and his outbursts against federal judges: “The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior.”

Barry Bonds Watch
So it seems that the media’s influence in this world has succeeded in painting Mr. Bonds as a bad guy. Half of kids now won’t root for Barry when he passes Ruth.
My fiancee loves this show, and has gotten me interested in it, though I missed out yesterday’s show when Chris finally got fired! It is a better reality show than most, if not all out there, because what they do is real, like, in last night’s show apparently the execs liked one presentation so much that they were actually going to use the ad for their product!
And that is the news that interests me for today.
Have a good day all
