Pray for Emma Grace & her family

Pray for Emma Grace & her family

One of my favorite bloggers has a very special daughter, Emma Grace. She’s a gorgeous, happy gal who has had numerous health issues throughout her short, but definitely miraculous life. Just yesterday, she was taken to the hospital. This was only her 2nd week of school in a brand new program. She is one special spirit that needs our prayers right now. In addition, her oldest sister is also sick right now too. For more of the details, see her mom’s blog at My Midlife Moments.

I Ate Bread Today!!!

I Ate Bread Today!!!

I was a kid in a candy store today. I got to get something I cannot get right now. I have Dermatitis Herpetiformis an annoying disease–though I guess if you are stuck with a disease in this life, one in which you itch all the time is not a bad one to have–that, when you eat wheat, it makes your body itch. So we’ve had to completely alter our diet to remove any gluten foods. But today we broke the diet and ate at Panera!

WFMW: Backup Diaper Bag

So I was running out to a job interview last week. I was going to be late, and doing this with baby is a whole new experience. I didn’t check my diaper backpack before leaving. Big mistake.

We get to the day care for the interview, and she has a huge mess in her diaper. It’s all over her clothes and smelly. Now I can’t go to a day care interview with my child looking like this! Luckily I had stuff scattered all over my car to fix the situation. But why chance it??

Now my backpack has this:

The 1 gallon bag easily holds 3-4 diapers, a sandwich bag of wipes, a cloth diaper, and a spare outfit. I keep additional bags in my car, my husband’s car and the cabinet at church. Never will I be fumbling for the necessities again.

Shannon at Rocks In My Dryer has asked for our Classics posts today. Unfortunately this is only my 2nd post, but I think it’s a dang good idea! I hope it works for you, as it has saved me. Visit her site for many more fabulous ideas.

I just love these two! Nathaniel is my 1 year old nephew, and Ava is my almost-5-month old daughter. Nathaniel loves her sooooooo much. No matter where he is, he always comes over to give her numerous hugs before continuing his busy playing schedule. Now if my camera was only fast enough to catch him being “Bam Bam”. . .

Help!! Need your advice & prayers.

Help!! Need your advice & prayers.

We live in a 6-plex. I think it was built to be a double, but sometime they split it into 6 apartments. There are 2 hot water heaters for the whole place–the bottom 2 apartments on 1 heater, and the top 4 apartments on the other. The top hot water heater has broken down at least once in the past week, to the point where there is *no* hot water at all, all day long. Other times, it works, *but* if *anyone* turns on their hot water, you lose yours and you’re stuck with cold water until they shut theirs off.

I’ve complained. I’ve been told that it’s not getting fixed, and “since you’re on a month-to-month lease, you can just move.” Ouch. Read the rest of this entry

Fall Into Reading: My List

Fall Into Reading: My List

I’m so glad I stumbled on this opportunity! Katrina over at Callapidder Days discovered that many of us bloggin’ women have oodles of unfinished books on our shelves, and piles more that we want to read. So the challenge is simple:

Set a booklist reading goal. It can be your own personal list, or that of your family for the period of Sept 23- Dec 21, 2006. Of course you can join in late, or continue reading afterwards, but this is meant to create some sense of accountability for us. If you want to join, or see what others are reading, go here.
